Tandem frames can be retro-fit with the Independent Drive, but it is a much bigger job than designing it into the bike.
(See drawing below)
You have to strip all the components off the bike - Weld the Eccentric Intermediate Shaft Shell in place - Add the stub front derailleur tube - Reroute the front derailleur cable - Touch up or repaint the frame - Reassemble the bike

Recommended Dimension B (DIM. B) for 32 tooth crossover and 16 tooth freewheels or 34 tooth crossover and 17 tooth freewheels.
7.5" - 7.0" - 6.5" - 6.0" - 5.5" ( 6.0" highly recommended )

Recommended Dimension B (DIM. B) for 36 tooth crossover and 18 tooth freewheels.
7.25" - 6.75" - 6.25" - 5.75" - 5.25" ( 5.75" or 6.25" highly recommended )

The retail price of $429 +/- includes the following:
  • Spline Drive - Main shaft with splines for standard Shimano Hyperglide cogs
  • Double Freewheel Block (DFB) - Holds two freewheels to the main shaft
  • Drive gears 30-24-18-12 tooth
  • Spacers for driving gears
  • Two freewheels - Your choice of 17, or 18 tooth
  • Bearings
  • Bearing spacer
